Very few businesses we speak to have some sort of disaster recovery and/or business continuity plan.

When we ask them why, many say that we don't really have natural disasters here is Southern Nevada, and that they don't have time to put one together.

Natural disasters are not the only things to worry about, the events that could put you out of business are often those that can happen to anyone anytime. Ask yourself what you would do if you came to work and someone had broken in and stolen all the computers and your server? What if the building had suffered a major fire? The question then in some cases would be, "Do I still have a business?"

Some disasters can be smaller, but still have a major impact; what if your IT guy was in a major accident and became unreachable for a week or month? Remember the Minnissota Bridge collaps, someone's IT guy may have been on that bridge, was he the only one who knows their network administrator password?
