WHAT WE DO

Desktop Valet will dispatch a highly qualified computer services professional (not geeks) to your home or office to assist you with any issue that you may have. An example list of services is below. In order to schedule a technician visit, you must provide a valid Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover Card) to our office staff over the telephone. You may choose to pay by check at the end of the visit, however we require a credit card to dispatch a technician. There is a $35 trip charge for all technician visits unless the customer is already a Managed Care subscriber. (*Rates below are for residential clients only.)

Internet Data Backup Service Setup and Configuration
Free during a visit for another service
Protecting your valuable files is very important. Desktop Valet's Internet Data Backup Service can protect your important Files and Pictures by backing them up to our secure data center. (The billing time clock will stop during the time it takes to perform this service) Our technicians:

• Will assist you in installing our Offsite Backup Client.
• Will assist you in finding your imporant files and setting a backup schedule that makes sense.
• Help you understand the backup reports that are emailed to you should you have any questions.

Software Installation
$75/hr
If you have legally licensed software that needs to be installed on your computer and you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, our technicians:

• Will help you in installing most common software titles.
• Will help you purchase and install Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware software.
• Assist in troubleshooting many popular software programs.

Parental Controls Setup and Installation
$75/hr
The Internet is a fascinating place with many great educational and entertainment resources. However there are many dangers on the Internet for our children. Desktop Valet recommends that children between the ages of 6 and 17 utilize computers in your home's public areas, however that is not always possible. Desktop Valet can deliver to you parental control or monitoring software and our technicians:

• Will assist you to install and properly configure the software.
• Explain how the software works and what you can expect
• Check that your computer does not have any file sharing programs that could lead to copyright violations.
• Give you the peace of mind that you are doing the right thing for your children's safely.

Wireless Network Security Check
$75/hr
In our experience, most wireless networks are not secure leaving your computers vulverable to hackers and bored neighborhood kids, and in many cases degrading the available speed of your Internet connection due to others using it without your permission. Our technicians:

• Will check to see if your wireless router's security features are enabled.
• Will Examine the wireless signal and determine if SSID Broadcasting is enabled.
• Will check your PC for any file sharing software and the availability and status of a personal firewall.
• Will change the wireless connection to a more secure one on all wireless computers on the premises. (Requires that the Wireless Router Password is known to the customer)

Additional Services

Virus/Spyware Detection and Removal
$75/hr
Every computer should have a valid and current Anti-Virus software protecting it from the thousands of malitious programs that are circulating on the Internet. Additionally, there are many programs that are known as Spyware that collect information from your computer and send it to various legitimate and illegitimate organizations. These programs not only compromise your privacy and security, they also slow down your computer. Our technicians:

• Will ensure that your Anti-Virus software is up to date and if not, can download and install a *new licensed Anti-Virus program for you. They'll scan the computer and remove most viruses for you. (*Additional software costs apply)
• Will download and install a *commercial or freeware spyware scanner and scan the computer for Spyware, then remove unwanted programs.
• Will download and run virus specific removal tools to clean your computer of difficult to remove viruses
• In the worst cases it may be necessary to reinstall the computer's operating system.
  

New PC Setup
$75/hr
New computers need to be added to your network and prepared for use. Our Technicians will:

• Connect your computer to your network and Internet connection (wireless or wired). Setup file and printer sharing if required
• Make sure Anti-Virus software is licensed and installed. If not, they will download and install a licensed version (*additional software costs apply)
• Install your legally licensed software for you
• Enable the computer's firewall.

Computer Optimization
$75/hr
There are many settings that can enhace the functioning and performance of your PC. If your PC is running slow, and it has already been checked for Viruses and Spyware, Our technicians:

• Will check your system for the various settings that can enhance your computing experience and adjust those settings.
• Will check to see that your Microsoft Security Patches are up to date.
• Will check to ensure that your Anti-Virus Software is currently licensed and up to date.
